Re-Twist/ Detailed Style (Mohawk,updo,bun)

Erika did try her best with the time we had. It was my birthday look and she came in early in order to do the style. She even went over for our appoin...tment by 2 hours trying to get the look I was hoping for - but in the end the look did not look like the picture that was given. So I'm a bit sad. We did not have time when the work was done to fix it, as she was already running 2 hours late for her next client. I called back the next day to explain that the work did not look like the picture and Erika was kind enough to offer to take it all down and try to fix it after all her appointments the next day, but due to me catching a plane that next evening, I could not schedule it. So she was awesome for that. Still a talented loctician, and one with integrity as well which is incredible. It just didn't work out this time for this style. What I asked for - loc petal mohawk and flat twist going straight back (first two photos) vs what I got below. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------Reply to Erika's response point for point: I started the review out saying you did your best with the time we had. We both found out the style is very time consuming - I don't have a problem with the time. I took note as a thank you for even going the extra 2 hours to try and figure the style out. We started at 8:30am and the appointment was supposed to end at 11 - but I got out at 1:30pm (I have receipts). Again, this post is in gratitude of your time and effort, I am not coming at you - lol I come in peace Erika. Yes, I wanted fuller petals like the first picture. I never said I loved it, but I did say "period!" when we finished the bangs which showed we were going in the correct direction. I held the photos up the entire time of the appointment and even offered to show you the youtube video for hwo the style is created which you declined and said, you didn't need a youtube video for this style, but the style I received did not look like what I wanted, so a youtube video could have been helpful here. Again, not coming at you, just wanting to get what I asked for. As you can see the plaits (flat twists) in my head are going up and not straight back, and the style overall is simply different - even though I held the photo up the entire time. I recognize I should have been more firm when I felt the plaits going up my head and stopped you and told you to make it look exactly like the picture. But I trusted the process and when we were done and even went over by hours, with your other client right there how can I tell you no- redo it. But again, I should have, or even just been more obvious about the fact that it is a nice style just (and as you can blatantly see from the picture) not what I asked for - no one can deny that. And yes, again I said in my initial review that you offered to take it down and start again, and "she is awesome for that". I am not slighting you at all, like I said in this review- I had a positive experience, you did the best with the time we had, we could not find a time to fix it and that is not your fault. But I have receipts that this is legit how I walked out of your studio at 1:30pm on Friday May 23rd - the day of our appointment. Let me add a screenshot now (added below as third picture - fourth was original uploaded pic - slide 3rd picture to the slide a bit to see the date and timestamp clearly). I do not lie Erika. And I would never put a review that is not my truthful and honest experience. If you (or anyone) wants receipts they are below. I'm even sadder you say the last picture looks like it "was taken the next day and clearly shows the style wasn't protected" when this is how i walked out of your salon :( ***SO my style, FRESH out of your salon looks like it's the next day and unprotected aka messy from YOUR own words.*** :( :( :(. Hi Sasha, thank you for your feedback. I came in early to accommodate your last-minute birthday request. The style you wanted is very time-consuming, and while the appointment ran a bit over, it was nowhere near two hours. Styles like this can take longer than expected, but I made sure to communicate with my next client, and they were completely understanding. Please don’t assume otherwise. You asked multiple times for fuller petals, and although I recommended smaller ones for better hold, I followed your direction. I checked in with you during every step and you said you loved it. You smiled, approved the look, and received several compliments from others in the salon. When you called afterward, I explained the style would need to be taken down completely to be redone. I couldn’t cancel my booked clients, but I still offered to fix it after 5 PM. It’s not my fault you had a flight—we simply couldn’t find a time that worked. I tried my best to accommodate you within reason. Most stylists wouldn’t offer to redo a style after the client approved it and left happy, but I did. The photo you posted was taken the next day and clearly shows the style wasn’t protected, which affects its appearance. In the future, please speak up if something doesn’t feel right in the moment. I no longer feel comfortable doing your hair, but I truly hope you find a Loctician who aligns better with your vision. Wishing you all the best—and a beautiful birthday. — Locs By Erika

Erika truly saved the day! I had an appointment for a retwist with my regular loctician, but unfortunately, she had to cancel due to illness. With my ...aunt's funeral the next day, I desperately needed someone to help me out, and thankfully, Erika had an opening. From the moment I arrived, Erika was incredibly sweet and made me feel right at home. As someone who is still new to the loc life, I had plenty of questions, and she took the time to answer each one thoroughly. Our conversation was enjoyable, and I appreciated how she went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable throughout the process. The results of my retwist were fantastic; Erika's skills are truly impressive! I feel so fortunate to have discovered her, especially since my regular loctician will be moving away soon.
